Hancocks Spend Summer in Uganda
Edd and Kathy Hancock served several ministries in and around Kampala, Uganda during the summer of 2013. They left Knoxville June 17 and returned August 30. Edd's primary responsibility was to write the curriculum for the poultry school (Nehemiah Business School) that was being constructed to train and provide business opportunities for young Ugandan entrepreneurs. The poultry school will have a strong Christian influence, in fact, Christian principles were included as a part of the curriculum. He also worked with the pastor of Dove Church where they have conducted medical clinics the past four years.
While in Uganda, Edd led two 5 Love Languages training sessions, one involving 31 couples. He also taught customer service principles (taken from his training days with Papa John's) to the Cornerstone Development Business Forum (young businessmen who attended the Cornerstone Academy), the employees of the three Quicky Picky Supermarkets, and the teachers of the four Cornerstone schools.
Kathy also provided leadership at Dove by preparing and leading a children's curriculum training seminar for their teachers. She also led the seminar at Dove's mission church in Namayumba, which is pastored by her interpreter in the eye glasses clinic the past four years.
They were both very involved in the TivaWater filter project, delivering and documenting a total of 57 water filters donated by friends and fellow church members.
Thank you for your prayers as they traveled to and from Uganda, as they "drove" around the region, and as they ministered in many phenomenal ways throughout the summer.
