Our plane arrived in Entebbe, Uganda (about an hour from Kampala) at 10:15 last night. By the time we got to our apartment, received instructions on how to turn the hot water and the Internet on, unpacked a few necessities and got to bed it was 1:30. Daniel, president of TivaWater Uganda, picked us up at the airport and before he left last night, he said he wanted to pick us up at 9:30 this morning to take us to breakfast so we could talk some about what we would be doing this summer. Well, he showed up at the appointed time this morning and when we got to the car, he said, “You’re driving.” I said, “Now?” He said, “Why not?” So I drove (on the left side of the road) all day….and everybody got home alive. One of the hardest parts is that the turn signals are on the right side of the steering wheel and the wipers are on the left. I kept turning on the wipers when I wanted to turn. We went to breakfast, to the grocery store to stock up on a few things, then 20+ miles through really bad road construction to the poultry school. You definitely don’t want to drive here and use your cellphone at the same time. Daniel, said you have to be aggressive here or people will run over you. I told him I really am not an aggressive person. He said I will be by the time I go back to the states. We'll see.
The poultry school director is coming to our apartment tomorrow morning a 9 to begin discussion of the curriculum I will be writing this summer.
We are grateful to God for a safe and productive day and the promise of great things to be accomplished in his name.
Thank you for your prayers,
Edd and Kathy
